JOB DESCRIPTION
Insight Global is seeking a Mechanical Engineer with a background in industrial design. This role involves designing process flows and specifying new equipment or plants for new processes or specialized materials.
The equipment types vary and include, but are not limited to, conveyors, motors, presses, pumps, piping, dust collection systems, and packaging equipment. Project sizes vary, with approximately 50% being small, 30% medium-sized, and 20% large. The portfolio includes both renovation projects (80%) and new builds (20%).
Candidates must have experience in full production line layout design for bulk material manufacturing. This role involves designing the manufacturing process from start to finish, ensuring all components integrate seamlessly into the production flow. In addition to hands-on design work, this role includes mentoring junior engineers. The software utilized is Revit and AutoCAD 3D.
The role is based in Macon, Georgia, and is hybrid, with three days on-site and two days flexible. Travel is required approximately 20% of the time for site visits and client meetings. This opportunity is ideal for someone looking to grow and advance in their career with a company.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
· ABET Accredited Mechanical Engineering Degree
· Experience designing full plant production systems (creating arrangement and layout for industrial facilities equipment and process flows).
· Experience and/or ability to mentor junior and/or midlevel engineers.
· Experience and/or ability to work with clients in identifying requirements, building process flows, and producing drawings for review.
