Job Description

Payroll Analyst is responsible for checking and auditing timekeeping records for compliance with established standards. Performs other duties including but not limited to balancing earnings and deduction totals, calculating and preparing general ledger entries, determining and correcting out-of-balance conditions, preparing and filing tax reports and researching and preparing special reports for Management. Coordinates and reviews general ledger transactions with accounting staff and assist with corrections and questions. Serves as a resources and support system for payroll coordinator and payroll practitioners. Responsible for researching laws and regulations regarding taxes and payroll withholding procedures. This position relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and works under general supervision.

Experience - 5 years payroll experience

Education - Bachelor's Degree

Special Skills - Requires a Creative Analytical and Critical Thinking skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.

2. Payroll is processed on a biweekly basis with accuracy, as evidenced by the reports output during the process.
3. Manual Closes are performed on a timely basis to ensure the proper posting of payroll & financial data as evidenced by reports generated by these Closes.
4. Effectively communicates with HR & Accounting to resolve issues identified during or caused by the payroll, as evidenced by reports generated.
5. Payroll adjustments submitted by the managers are reviewed and processed by Monday of payroll week.

7. Bi-weekly, monthly, and quarterly payroll taxes and reports (state and federal) are prepared and calculated and submitted for payment at least one week in advance of payment due date.
8. Scheduled Payroll Reports as required by Accounting for monitoring expenses & accruals ar run by the 3rd day of following month.
9. Bi-weekly payroll reports are distributed to managers by Friday morning after payroll.
10. W-2s are accurately prepared, reconciled and distributed to employees no later than 15th of January each year.

12. Taxes, taxable wages & net pay every Payroll are balanced and if necessary, works with appropriate staff to correct out-of-balance conditions as evidenced by accurate submission of W-2s at year-end. Payroll wages and taxes are reconciled after each payroll by the Monday following payroll.
