POSITION OVERVIEW:

The People Success Consultant is a strategic HR partner to school leaders, responsible for delivering tailored human capital solutions that drive staff engagement, operational excellence, and compliance. This role combines deep HR expertise with a client-service mindset to proactively solve people-related challenges in educational environments. The consultant advises on a wide range of HR functions—including employee relations, benefits, leave administration, compliance, and performance development—to ensure that client schools maintain strong, supportive, and legally compliant workplaces. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced, dynamic settings and excels at building trust-based relationships while delivering pragmatic, high-impact solutions .

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Strategic HR Consulting: Serve as a trusted advisor to school leadership, offering strategic guidance on HR priorities, policy development, and talent strategy.
  • Benefits Administration: Manage and oversee client benefits programs including enrollment, inquiries, and vendor coordination.
  • Leave Management: Administer and advise on employee leaves (FMLA, ADA, etc.), ensuring compliance.
  • Employee Relations (ER): Guide conflict resolution, investigations, and disciplinary actions.
  • Compliance & Risk Management: Conduct HR audits and ensure legal compliance.
  • Performance & Development: Support performance management and staff development.
  • HR Process Optimization: Streamline HR workflows using Paycor and other tools.
  • Client Relationship Management: Serve as liaison between client schools and internal departments.
  • Other Duties: Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, especially in employee relations.
  • Strong understanding of federal and multi-state labor laws.
  • Experience managing benefits and leave programs.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite.
  • HRIS experience, preferably Paycor.
  • Strong interpersonal and client relationship skills.
  • SHRM/HRCI certification required within 6 months of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification.
  • Experience supporting educational institutions.
  • Experience in a client-facing or consulting HR role.
  • Knowledge of California employment law.
