We have an exciting opportunity for a Shipping/Distribution Supervisor – 2nd Shift to join our team. This position is responsible for overseeing a team to pull, stage, and load inventory for McNichols inter-branch distribution – coordinating full flatbed truck loads of inventory to deliver to our 18 other distribution centers nationwide. This is a working supervisor role, both mentoring a team and assisting on the warehouse floor at least 75% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Assign workers to specific duties based on workload and shipping schedules.
• Manage activity within department including planning, flow, and resource allocation.
• Review relevant paperwork and efficiently inventory to be staged and loaded for each truck to meet customer demands
• Communicate internally with departments such as Purchasing, Logistics, etc.
• Monitor metrics for quality and performance, making improvements as needed.
• Coordinate maintenance of equipment and machinery.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and manage inventory adjustments.
• Work closely with third party logistics carriers to provide on-time delivery of McNichols products.
• Maintain a safe work environment at all times including proper PPE and regular safety communications.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years supervisory experience with a proven record of leading, delegation, and decision making.
• Computer proficiency including MS Word, Excel
• Experience inventory management software.
• Working knowledge of shop math
• Experience working in ISO or quality regulated environment preferred.
• Knowledge of general business and management principles including standard business metrics and employment practices.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to prioritize, organize and multi task.
• High levels of professionalism with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to operate a forklift, stand for long periods, and lift up to 50lbs
