We are seeking a full-time Adult Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our large adult inpatient and outpatient practice. SLP-CCC. We are a nationally recognized and award winning 412 Bed, non-profit, acute care hospital and Level I| Trauma Center. Services include Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Pathology, Cardiac Rehabilitation and Pulmonary Rehabilitation. We are proud to have over 20 clinical specialty programs, each led by experienced and highly trained therapist. The PVHMC campus is home for our 11,000 sq. ft. outpatient clinic.
Job Summary:
Provides direct patient care. Organizes and conducts medically prescribed speech therapy programs to restore function. May perform other duties as assigned.
Ideal Candidate:
Prior acute inpatient experience and bilingual Spanish speaking all preferred, but not required. Participation in a rotating weekend schedule likely.
Our Acute Care Inpatient Speech team provides services throughout the hospital, including the critical care floors and the trauma units. Our SLPs provide cognitive assessments, assist in transitioning patients off ventilators and tracheotomies, perform bedside dysphagia screening, and in coordination with our radiology department, perform both IP and OP VFSE/MBSS. This position also provides opportunities to support our Adult Outpatient Speech program as well.
Job Qualifications:
LICENSURE:
California State Speech Therapy License or letter that provides proof that associate is a Speech Pathologist License Applicant (SPLA)
EDUCATION: Master's degree in Communication Disorders
CERTIFICATION: Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) or has filed an approved plan for the Required
Professional Experience (RPE). Advanced clinical training experience and continuing education in specialty area.
