We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Payroll and Compensation Specialist to join our dynamic HR team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for numbers, a strong understanding of payroll systems, and an eye for detail. PMC, is a leader in the healthcare industry and owns and operates Skilled Nursing and Assisted Living facilities throughout the state of Louisiana.
Responsibilities
- Process and manage payroll for employees in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Ensure the timely and accurate payment of wages.
- Review and audit payroll data to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Review compensation data to ensure rate changes align with the established wage scale.
- Understand and follow the process of compensation analysis, including salary structures and incentive programs.
- Process and manage garnishments in compliance with legal and company policies.
- Respond to inquiries regarding payroll, taxes, garnishments, verifications of employment, and compensation.
- Maintain payroll records and update compensation data as needed.
- Administer some employee benefits and deductions, ensuring accuracy in payroll processing.
- Reconcile benefit statements to deductions to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies
Qualifications
- Proven experience in payroll processing and compensation management.
- Strong knowledge of payroll software (e.g., UKG Pro, Workforce Management, or Kronos) is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel proficiency is a must).
- Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- In-depth understanding of tax regulations, payroll laws, and garnishment procedures.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- A team player with the ability to collaborate effectively with the team.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred, but not required.
