RN – Stepdown | New York, NY

Contract: 12/15/2025 – 03/14/2026 | Days: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM | Hours: 11.5/day, 34.5/week

Overview:

We’re hiring Stepdown RNs to join a leading New York hospital. Multiple positions are open, supporting a mix of cardiac, surgical, and medicine stepdown patients. Candidates will provide high-quality, patient-centered care while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities:

Patient Care & Experience:

• Deliver safe, evidence-based care using the nursing process.
• Assess patient needs, prioritize care, and implement interventions.
• Educate patients and caregivers on care plans, discharge, and health promotion.
• Apply Relationship Centered Care: admission welcome, bedside shift report, purposeful rounding, and discharge wrap-up.

Quality & Safety:

• Practice patient-centered care while identifying and escalating risks.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and documentation supporting safety and compliance.

Operations & Professional Development:

• Perform charge nurse duties as needed; manage resources efficiently.
• Support patient throughput and smooth operations during shifts.
• Advance clinical skills and participate in professional committees.

Requirements:

• License/Certifications: NYS RN License, BLS
• Experience: 2+ years RN experience; 2+ years in cardiology, telemetry, or VAD care; Travel experience preferred
• Skills: EPIC experience highly preferred
• Education: BSN preferred; ADN considered with relevant experience or active BSN matriculation

Other Notes:

• Shift: 7 AM – 7:30 PM, mix of Cardiac, Surgery, and Medicine Stepdown
• Auto Offer: Must respond within 2 hours to accept/decline; otherwise, offer moves to next candidate.
